BTE AutoReiseZug starts the summer season on 14 May
Travel by train and your own vehicle overnight between Hamburg-Altona and Lörrach over approximately 900 kilometres.
BTE BahnTouristikExpress GmbH, a company of the RDC Deutschland Group, is launching the new AutoReiseZug season between Hamburg-Altona and Lörrach (Baden-Württemberg) on Thursday, 14 May. After the successful previous years, the popular night train will once again comfortably take holidaymakers along with their vehicles overnight from Hamburg-Altona to Lörrach this year, the ideal starting point for numerous travel destinations in Italy, Austria or Switzerland. At the same time, many travellers from Switzerland use the AutoReiseZug heading north.
"Our AutoReiseZug is particularly in demand from travellers from Switzerland," explains Wolfgang Seyb, Managing Director of BTE BahnTouristikExpress GmbH. "Many of our guests use the overnight connection heading north to reach the North and Baltic Sea coasts or destinations in Scandinavia in a relaxed way and without a long car journey." With up to eight vehicle transport wagons, 80 cars and motorcycles can be transported. Passengers spend the night in couchette or sleeper carriages and arrive at their destination well rested the next morning, including breakfast on board. Snacks and drinks are available until midnight, and children receive a small surprise at check-in during the holiday season.
The BTE AutoReiseZug operates on 102 operating days in the 2026 season, between May and October, in both directions. Departures always take place in the evening. All information about BTE and booking options can be found online at www.bte-autoreisezug.de.
