The RDC Deutschland Group has restructured its leadership and organisational structure as of 1 January 2026. The aim of the reorientation is to further consolidate competencies within the group, strengthen synergies, and clearly and future-oriented manage the strategic and operational control of the individual business fields. The railway company has been a private provider in the German market since 2009 and is one of the leading private railways in Schleswig-Holstein as well as in the German and European night train traffic. With over 430 employees, the company is active in the business units RU (railway undertaking) Schleswig-Holstein, Night Trains & Fleet, and Infrastructure & Workshops, and combines its professional expertise along the entire value chain within the rail industry. The RDC Deutschland Group is led by Markus Hunkel, Chief Executive Officer, and Ute Oldenburg, Chief Financial Officer. Torge Nielsen left the company in mid-December 2025 and is no longer active as a managing director for RDC Deutschland and RDC AUTOZUG Sylt GmbH.
Business Unit RU Schleswig-Holstein
The business unit RU Schleswig-Holstein of the RDC Deutschland Group includes the two companies RDC AUTOZUG Sylt GmbH and Norddeutsche Eisenbahn Niebüll GmbH. Both companies operate as railway companies in Schleswig-Holstein and have extensive professional overlaps, valuable synergies, and shared competencies in railway operations. The close and continuous cooperation of the two companies forms a strong foundation to further expand and future-proof the position of the RDC Deutschland Group in rail transport. The business unit RU Schleswig-Holstein is led by Julian Rönsch as Chief Operating Officer (COO), with Wolfgang Seyb in charge of production. Markus Hunkel continues to serve in his role as Chief Executive Officer of RDC AUTOZUG Sylt GmbH.
Business Unit Night Trains & Fleet
With the largest private night train fleet in Europe, the RDC Deutschland Group is not only operating its own products in international night train traffic but also provides reliable mobility solutions for partners with a versatile fleet and tailored railway services. Effective from 1 January 2026, Kathleen Stöckel will take over responsibility for the business unit Night Trains & Fleet as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The RDC Deutschland Group is pleased to have secured Kathleen Stöckel for this demanding and strategically important role. With her many years of experience in the rail industry and her previous role as contract manager for the RDC Deutschland Group, she has already significantly shaped the night train business of BTE BahnTouristikExpress GmbH and RDC Asset GmbH. Together with Wolfgang Seyb, who will also take over the production management of Night Trains in addition to RU Schleswig-Holstein, she will further develop and strategically realign the business unit.
Business Unit Infrastructure & Workshops
Since 1 January 2026, Marcus Ebert has been leading the business unit Infrastructure & Workshops within the RDC Deutschland Group as Chief Operating Officer (COO). As a member of the management of Teutoburger Wald Eisenbahn, he is jointly responsible with Henrik Wilkening for the expansion and development of the railway infrastructure on the route between Harsewinkel, Gütersloh, and Verl. With his many years of experience in the infrastructure sector and his operational and strategic expertise, Marcus Ebert will significantly drive the further development of the business unit.
Henrik Wilkening takes over the management of Infrastructure, while Ingo Ahrendt leads the workshops of the RDC Deutschland Group.
